Her article is titled, “Measuring the True Value and ROI of Media Relations”. Ms. Bace starts the article by stating “…Public relations measurement can only begin with brand awareness and thought leadership based on purposeful, strategic messaging including value proposition development. Ultimately, it’s about creating real Return on Investment (ROI) that is reflected in the bottom line and is measurable. It sounds challenging, but it can—and must — be done…” The article then concludes with, “By creating measurement tools that accurately reflect the effectiveness of particular public relations efforts/actions, media relations can be more than a brand builder when implemented correctly – It can be a huge contributor to the top and bottom line of the business”!
Marla is General Manager, Circles, a Sodexo company. She is based in New York and New Jersey. Circles is the leading provider of concierge and loyalty marketing services within the concierge space today. In this role, Marla has responsibility for the product innovation and delivery of superior customer service to Circles’ top concierge client based in NYC. Previously, Marla held the position of Chief Marketing Officer at Brinton Eaton, a national wealth advisory firm. Over the past 20 years, she has helped shape the marketing endeavors and the customer service experience of several world-class firms headquartered in Manhattan and New Jersey.
From 2007 until early 2009, Ms. Bace was the Co-Head of Global Marketing Best Practices for UBS Wealth Management. In her role she was responsible for identifying and replicating emerging and leading practices within UBS and best practices from other companies across global marketing to drive revenues and enhance business efficiency.
Prior to UBS, she was Chief Marketing Officer at a top accounting and consulting firm within the US. As a direct report to the CEO, Marla planned and administered a $6 million budget and was responsible for guiding marketing and practice development activities across eight regions. She grew a passive nine-person marketing effort into a dynamic, 24-person, fully integrated Marketing Department that was instrumental in growing the firm’s annual revenues from $123 million to $200 million over two years. The highlight was a public relations initiative which exceeded goals in the first year by over 125%.
